Thailand was the most amazing experience of my life. I am missing it already! Met the most amazing people and became a family with everyone i travelled with. I will never get over how Thai people live - so carefree with no worries in the world. They also never sleep. Work all night and all day. And the food was soooo yummy, except for when your stomach isnt use to it (only down side) got sick around 4 times which really wasnt fun. But other than that I had the most amazing time! Missing it dearly and cant wait to be back one day.
Xoxo
And i ate my last subway i will probably have for a few months :( Sooo excited and nervous for Asia tomorrow, i am looking forward to experience culture of a third world country. Really sad im leaving Australia- i will never forget the memories and people i met here. It was an amazing life experience! I am so thankful to be able to experience it. Merry christmas to all and all a good night!!!!
Love Claire.
Yesterday was awesome!! Day started off at 5am with a hike to the top of Mt kosciuszko which took a hour and a bit. It was sooo windy and i was so out of shape so walking against the wind up a mountain aint as easy as it looks!! But it was worth the walk. Had a snowball fight at the top (yes there really is snow in australia soo odd right?!?) and the landscape and view reminded me out of something of Lord of the rings movie. Once we got to the top hiked back down and had a nice cup of hotchocolate (wasnt as good as tim hortons tho boohoo =( ) then made our way to “the longest beach” in australia. It was about a 4 hour drive and very very rainy and overcasty so we didnt get to see much. Had a nice dinner at our hotel and went to bed early.
For being thankful of the amazing time i have had so far. Have never learnt so much in my life.
Well today i started my new tour and have learned so much today! It started off at 6am so i was up at 5 and had the worst sleep ever because had snoring people in my dorm - arrgh. But i am alive and got through the day just fine. Only about 12 people on my tour, some sweet girls. Today we went to Canberra. Canberra is the capitol of Aus so there is a ton of history. Our tour guide is sooo factual and talked for hours on the three hour ride from Sydney to Canberra all about the history. Quite interesting and i learned alot. Got to canberra, and it reminded me of kamloops - the landscape etc. and it had a river down the middle. The parliment buildings were beautiful. The time started off with stopping at the war museum and it was interesting to learn about all the Australian troops. I am not gona lie thought it was a bit boring (kinda felt like i was in socials studies in highschool- YUCK!!!) but it was more interesting than i thought. I know Drew would have loved it!!!! My favorite part was on their fighter jets they had big kangaroos painted on the side. After that we went to the parliment buildings and it was pretty amazing as i have never been in a big room where the prime minister talks. It was pretty interesting, we were only there for an hour which was perfect in my books. After that, my favorite part of the day, we drove down this road where all the different countries in the worlds embassays houses where! It was soo neat to see the different countries and the different structures and gardening work of their properties were. Canadas was pretty plain, but well kept with nice landscape. Where france had a super brand new intense modern building which was pretty wicked. Then Thai was all asian looking with big buddahs out front and etc. it was super cool i thought :) then we made our way up to the “snowy mountains” to a resort called Thredbo. It definitely doesnt compare to any ski resorts in Canada but i am pretty impressed for a Australian ski resort as their snow season is short! Apparently if you have a condo here your considered quite wealthy. But wow did the drive up here EVER remind me of the okanagan! Pretty crazy. There was even a lake we drove by that totally reminded me of the okanagan lake!!! I took a picture so when i upload it you will know what im talking about. Had chili for dinner and im pretty exhausted now so going to head to bed.
Love always,
C
